It's a hot tranny mess up in here

Alright, so in addition to every other show I love to watch, I love me some Project Runway. I really enjoyed this season more than past ones for a few reasons. One, I like when the designers get along. I don't do conflict and I really don't enjoy watching it. Two, I think they were undeniably some of the most talented designers to ever grace the show. Three, Christian (the winner) and Chris. They both brought so many hilarious moments to the show, not to mention fabulous designs. Four, Heidi and Tim. Everyone knows about Tim Gunn's fabulousness and Heidi? Well, I'm German and I just love her. Or maybe I just want to be her, I'm not sure which. My money is on the later.

So, SNL recently did a skit about Christian and I've posted below. Amy Poehler's impression of Christian is spot on. As is the Tim Gunn impression. Check it out.

Guten tag! And welcome to my little fraction of the world wide web.

I started this blog awhile back but in the past few months I failed to post anything new. So I've decided to re-energize! I gave NSGP a face lift, changed the colors and fonts and have shifted my focus... slightly. I was going to erase some older posts for lack of relevance, but I have decided to keep them for nostalgic purposes.

First and foremost, I blog just to be able to write something, somewhere. I love to write, I always have and I always will. I have a job that is less than inspiring and does not give me any creative outlet. So I've decided to blog as a way to keep my mind and writing skills sharp. I realize that blogging offers the assumption that people care what you have to say and that quite frankly, that seems rather egotistical for my taste. I don't promise to write anything of any major significance or value, just my own rambling thoughts if you care to read them. My blog's name is appropriate for this very reason, I consider writing about oneself in a public venue to be a bit of a guilty pleasure, but with the increasing popularity of blogs, its really not so guilty after all :)

A friend from college put up this clever little oath on her blog and I would like to adopt it for my own:

I solemnly swear, here and now, to not be the type of blogger who posts video rants or sing-a-longs with my friends (unless they are really good, of course), draws phallic things on people’s faces, or claims to be an expert on any one subject. I will be cognizant of my friends and family and how my posts may affect their privacy. I may curse or be crude on occasion, but mostly hope to keep that at bay. I will not blog everyday just for the sake of blogging everyday. I will only blog when I have something to share. I will proofread my posts the best I can, and willingly accept any and all suggestions of topics as well as feedback (except for things like ‘you suck, stop writing’).

The photo that appears above is one I took in Salzburg, Austria over the holidays in 2006. On the left is "New Town" and the right is "Old Town"- the distinction is quite clear and it is one of my most favorite photographs. It plays no significance in this blog whatsoever, other than the simple fact that I like it, and I hope you do too.
